Hinsdale Tudor is a project by Harvard-trained architect Chantelle Brewer of UB Studio, who sought to preserve historic architecture while thoughtfully introducing modern elements to meet her clients’ needs. The project features yakisugi (also known as shou sugi ban), a traditional Japanese wood-burning technique used on the modern addition to naturally preserve the wood.
