"The Blue Bean" from my "Chicago Through My Eyes" collection represents my reimagined versions of objects that connect us Chicagoans. The bean being the case study here. The original name for the bean is the cloud gate, so I reimagined the bean as a cloud over the city's skyline.
Through all my experiences in Chicago, I’ve always believed in its potential to rise above the negative reputation it often carries. The color blue, often associated with calmness and tranquility, felt like the perfect choice for reimagining the iconic Bean, a Chicago landmark, as a symbol of hope.
Through this piece, I aim to inspire both Chicagoans and anyone who encounters my work to see beyond the storm, hold on to hope, and embrace the potential for renewal.
